Partition:
- is a unit of locking
- enforces certain restrictions on the way the condition can be used. For instance in case of REP2 it’s not allowed to modify anything outside its partition.
NOTE: Partitioning does not eliminate the need of the management operations, but it makes them much more robust, clear and obvious.
