Trigger NFS disk usage policy ----------------------------- This file is $BFROOT/www/Detector/Trigger/operations/trignfs.txt Su Dong Aug/8/99 We have now obtained a 10G NFS disk space for trigger operation work. This area is /nfs/farm/babar/trg/ and currently I am the czar for the usage of this space. The usage policy I would like to propose: 1) This is strictly for trigger operations/analysis and not for storing your private physics analysis build or your favorite psiK0s data sample. Some example of appropriate usage: a) Trigger online/dataflow test code/build b) L3 code/build c) trigger fastmonitoring/Opr monitoring d) Trigger performance ananlysis/data samples 2) However, it is strongly encouraged that you use the /nfs/farm/work/$USER area for anything you only need to keep for a <1 week to save your own time for the cleanup needed in the common NFS space. 3) You can creat subdirectories under the /nfs/farm/babar/trg/ area, but for the sake easy identification of the owner, your own test code/data should be under a subdiretory of your username, for example I have already created a subdirectory /nfs/farm/babar/trg/sudong. We also need common directories for various packages, eg. we already have subdirectories fastmon, fastmonps for obvious purposes. Other common packages should also be created with sensible names and have a czar responsible for cleaning up the area. 4) We should encourage sharing of common packages instead everyone building a slightly different version of the same package. We should especially avoid e.g. many people creating the trigger offline analysis Ntuple data for the same run under many different subdirectories. This policy together with a list of common subdirectories are listed at: http://www.slac.stanford.edu/BFROOT/www/Detector/Trigger/operations/trignfs.txt For anyone who needs to create a new common directory, please edit this document and list your name as the responsible person for that subdirectory (subdirectory under your own userID is by default assumed to exist and under your own responsibility of course).
