Trigger Rate and Dead Time monitoring ===================================== Aug/1/99 Ian Adam and Chris Brown have put together the FCT monitoring tools together to display the back-pressure monitor data from the dataflow master crate ROM by Chris/Rowan. There is a server process which receives the data from dataflow and pass on to EPICS. There should only be one server running at any time and controlled by the IR2 DAQ. Once this server is running, people can attach EPICS displays from any of the nodes on the IR2 subnet e.g. bbr-con*, bbr-dev*, bbr-srv03 etc. Once got on to any of these nodes and set the DISPLAY back to your terminal, cd $BFROOT/detector/online/Production if you want to print strip charts from EPICS: setenv EPICS_PR_LIST [printer name] start the FCT EPICS display IR2Platform/FctMonDisplay.sh It has subpanels for detailed trigger rates, dropped crates (=full lights) as well as scaler counts and summary. There is a small `dm' icon where you can select which printer to use for printing the displays. The two trigger rates on the main panel: "masked and prescaled" -- This is what GLT `want' to run after masks and prescale, but before any loss from dead time. "L1 Accept" -- Actual L1 rate after dead time. There is a grey vertical bar at the bottom right on the main panel. Click on it to bring up EPICS strip charts with default traces including L1 trigger rate (prescaled, but before dead time), luminosity and dead time. The printing of the strip charts goes to the printer defined by the environment variable EPICS_PR_LIST.
