Usage of the L1EMT Teststand

If a persistant error occurs with one of the Trigger Processor Boards (TPB) or Trigger Carrier Board (TCB) then it will become necessary firstly to replace the offending board and then perform a couple of tests on this board in the teststand located in the lab above the control room.

Spares for both the TPB & TCB are located in the TestStand in the lab. A propper note of observed behaviour before replacement and the serialno. of the offending board.
 

Running the TestStand

Switching on the teststand crate is as per the description on the EMTOperations page. The only change observed witll be that there are only 5 TPB in the crate.

For cycling the system through the finite state machine you must have 2 programs running, these are fcgui & eventDecoder. They are started as below;
