Future Plans and Needs (April 1997)

Plans:

TSF to DAQ interface:

Cathy Cretsinger will be completing the interface from the TSF simulation to DAQ, which will include the segment addresses, location, and time stamp relative to the L1 Accept, along with accessors which will report various information about the segment based on the address, including phi position and its uncertainty, event T0 and its uncertainty, as well as quality.

??? to DAQ interface:

As DAQ information from other boards than the TSF in the trigger system is needed by users, simular interfaces will be created.

Needs:

Time class:

Currently, the TrgDigi and FcsDigi are the only consumers of the BbrTime class. Several people have complained about this class. We need a time class which provides a simple method of storing the absolute time of the L1Accept down to a nanosecond.

Time stamp:

For real data, we will have a unique time-of-L1Accept as a part of the Fcs Digi. We need an equivalent time for simulation purposes in the .xdr files. We suggest that the actual time of creation of the event by GEANT be used as the simulation timestamp.
