Minutes of the Trigger Operation Meeting (July 25, 2006)

Attendees: Rainer Bartoldus, Al Eisner, Fang Fang, Su Dong, Mark Tibbetts, Dan Walker

No known significant events in trigger operations.

EMT dead time no longer significant after the slot-0 ROM fix, so that Dan will try to reset the EMT FEX prescale back to 1.

Fang  reported that new online release 13.11.0 is out (no DCT changes) which needs cosmic validation. DCT online still running against libraries in $ODF_ROOT/dct/, copied from releases, not yet from the release itself. Move of relevant teststand code for calibrations to L1DctCalOdf is done, but needs to be tested in the teststand first, before going to the offline release. Because of the major change is CDB from offline relesae 18->20, there is a backward compatibility issue if we want make this working for release 18.

Offline release 18.7.0 is built 'just for Rainer' , primarily to fix the L3 DCH high occupancy truncation problem (plus minor monitoring updates). The prospect for deloying this is rather dim. Dave Hamilton has been out of action for surgery and unclear when/how to get the online build going for this. How to go about with offline validation is also unclear.  The full derivative code is still not in this release which needs further validation. The concern is that although it may be more efficient, there is a possibility that it may get over zealous in finding tracks so that sometimes a fake track could take away hits for a real track.

Data Quality and Monitoring

No report.

Tigger Configuration

For the next step of testing modified L1 configuration, if the only new object is the Zn, we actually don't need to change GLT firmware, but simply use the current Zk object for the 1Zn. It would be nice to really call it Zn in TrgConfig but there is no real problem from calling it Zk since we haven't used Zk in any real configuration. The test can therfore be down without a new release. However, some work is need to create a new ZPD configuration to change cuts for Zk, which we have to recreate tools to accompolish and validate. Since offline analyses cannot deal with GLT objects directly, we have to put Zk into the GLT configuration to allow the analysis access. One suggestion is to put a prescale 1Zk to displace the D2*&1M line.
