Fast monitoring reference plots update

  • Log on bbr-dev20 as babarifr.
    1. Make a temporary offline release
    2. Add the HEAD version of IfrMonTools package
    3. Search in the logbook a recent run that could be used as reference. There are currently two different kinds of references, PHISICS (for Colliding Beams runs) and COSMICS. You should choose two suitable runs to update both.
    4. Search in /nfs/bbr-srv02/u4/Monitoring/OutputArchive/yyyy/mm/LiveFastMon/ directory (where yyyy and mm are the desired year and month) if the hbooks of the choosen runs exist and inspect them with paw.
    5. Go into the directory IfrMonTools/FastMonAuto in your temporary release
    6. Run saveIfrRef.csh <filename> with the full path of the PHYSICS hbook file
    7. A LiveFastMon.hbook will appear in your current directory
    8. Move LiveFastMon.hbook in the directory /nfs/bbr-srv02/u4/Monitoring/References/Ifr/LiveFastMon with name ifr_ref_rrrrr.hbook. Where rrrrr is the run number
    9. Update the link LiveFastMon.hbook in the directory /nfs/bbr-srv02/u4/Monitoring/References/Ifr/LiveFastMon to point to the new hbook
    10. Run again saveIfrRef.csh <filename> with the full path of the COSMICS hbook file
    11. A new LiveFastMon.hbook will appear in your current directory
    12. Move LiveFastMon.hbook in the directory /nfs/bbr-srv02/u4/Monitoring/References/Ifr/LiveFastMon with name ifr_ref_rrrrr.hbook. Where rrrrr is the run number
    13. Update the link LiveFastMon-COSMICS.hbook in the directory /nfs/bbr-srv02/u4/Monitoring/References/Ifr/LiveFastMon to point to the new hbook
    14. run /nfs/bbr-srv02/bfdist/MonitoringData/LiveFastMon-hbook-install. You have to insert a short message describing what you have updated
    15. Check if the files /nfs/bbr-srv02/u4/Monitoring/References/merged/LiveFastMon-COSMICS.hbook and /nfs/bbr-srv02/u4/Monitoring/References/merged/LiveFastMon-PHYSICS.hbook have been updated
      • If this file has not been updated, this procedure has failed. Contact the DQM
    16. Notify the DQM of the update of the reference plot
    17. Ask the navigator to restart the reference server
    18. Remove the temporary release
    19. Check that the reference plots are the expected ones
