PEP activities this week:
As there was no PEP-II-BaBar meeting, some lumi numbers are estimated 'by hand' from plots,
and may not be completely accurate. I have marked these numbers in red. Black numbers are official.
Really good week!
PEP activities planned next week :
Take on-peak data again
Foreseen work opportunities (PEP down periods): None.
BaBar activities/issues this week:
Some work on UPS, not successful - remains bypassed.
See DIRC logbook for details
Downtime due to the DIRC: None.
- Saturday 10th : Page for alarm on scalers in sector 3; background-related. Asked pilot to call MCC. Later paged for yellow alarms for degassing pump SIAM; fake.
- Thursday 15th : Global calibration got stuck because the database was locked. Nicolas unlocked it by killing some processes running on bbr-dev20, and the calibration completed normally. Instructions updated to prevent this happening again.
- Friday 16th : Intermittent yellow alarms for degassing pump. Seem to have been caused by the work on the UPS, as they coincide in time and do not recur. In the FastMon, we noticed that there are some runs with peaks of a few thousand events near zero in the plot of TDC hits per module (page 5 of FastMon). Later we realised that this happens when a run ends in beam loss.
