DIRC boards currently in the detector

Last action: DFBs :

  • DFB : Sector 3, slot 6 (64 --> 3F) 16 channels were dead
  • DFB : Sector 6 slot 13 (A2 --> 69) 8 dead channels. Two hours later, 69 had the same dead channels as A2, so we replaced it (69 --> 6B). The same 8 dead channels showep up again immediatly on 6B. This is currently under investigation.

    IMPORTANT: don't forget to propagate any modification in the slac id file. Update as well the history text file if needed.

    Recall: sectors are counted clockwise from outside the SOB; Sector 0 corresponds to the range 0-1 hour.

    Recall: In case a DFB is changed, the modification must be propagated to the online expert. Indeed, each DFB has been calibrated separately and the DAC thesholds individually set. These values must be given to the DIRC front-end configuration xtc files.

    Troubleshooting: the DIRC cabinet contains 2 old DFBs labelled 'BB' and 'BC' (they should be close to DFB 'AF'). These boards were prototypes and are now only used to get component spares when some boards are repaired by Dominique. These protos are NOT the DFBs 'BB' and 'BC' which are currently in the detector.

    Troubleshooting: take care of the numbering convention of the DFBs! DFBs are numbered from left to right (starting from the top!) according to this picture. Following this convention, the DFB #0 is the furthest from the DCC and DFB #13 the closest.

    To trace back in time the past board changes and the reasons why they occured, you can have a look at the history text file, initially maintained by Philippe.
