• Daily Plots

  Daily plots are updated daily after the end of the owl shift.

  • Lumi and scaler scope plot

    From top to bottom, this plot displays the time evolution of:
    • the HER current (Amp);
    • the LER current (Amp);
    • the luminosity (×10³³);
    • the average scaler rate (kHz);
    • the average scaler rate ratio;
    • the maximum current excess (microAmp) among the 12 HV channels powering the scalers
    during the last 3 shifts.

    

  • Comparison of the DRC scaler rate ratio with the DCH measured / expected current ratio

    From top to bottom, one has:
    • the luminosity (×10³³);
    • the average scaler rate (kHz);
    • the average scaler rate ratio;
    • the average DCH measured / expected current ratio
    during the last 3 shifts.

    

  • DIRC occupancy and scaler rates

    From top to bottom, one has:
    • the luminosity (×10³³);
    • the average scaler rate (kHz);
    • the average scaler rate ratio;
    • the DIRC occupancy
    • the average DCH measured / expected current ratio

    Integrated scaler vs average scaler rate. Any significant deviation from linearity means high background

    

  • Neutron scope plot

    This plot focuses on the three neutron counters. Below the luminosity time-chart, one can see the counter rate (in kHz) and the rate ratio for each of these three counters. The 1rst and the 3rd counters are on the forward side whereas the 2nd one is located on the backward side (i.e. on the DIRC side).

    

  • Correlation between backward neutron counter and scalers

    This plot shows the time correlation between the luminosity variations, the average scaler rate and the 2nd neutron counter (located on the backward side of BaBar) rate.
    Looking at the plots, the correlation between these three variables appears quite obvious.

    

  • Scalarm alarm counters

    • Scaler rate yellow alarm counting

      For each sector, this plot shows the number of times scaler rates go above the yellow alarm level during each of last three shifts. The y-axis on the right converts this number in a fraction of shift by taking into account the OdcNtupleMaker sampling time.

      

    • Scaler rate red alarm counting

      Same as above, but for alarms above the red alarm level this time.

  • Sector comparision plots

    These plots aim at comparing the evolution of background quantities in the 12 DIRC sectors to get an idea of the background distribution in Φ.

    • Current excess

      For each sector, this plot shows the current excess in the channel powering the scaler versus the time over a 3-shift duration. The color code is displayed on the right of the plot: sectors are sorted based on the mean value of the current excess to make sure that close quantities are drawn using different colors.
      This convention aims at making clearer the pictures and is used in all the similar plots displayed below.

      

    • Current excess small spikes (above 5 microAmp)

      For each sector, this plot shows the 'density' of excess current spikes above 5 microAmp as a function of time. The fraction is computed over the last 5 minutes.

      

    • Current excess large spikes (above 10 microAmp)

      Same as above, but counting large current excess spikes (above 10 microAmp).

      

    • Scaler rates

      Comparison of the scaler rates (in kHz) in the 12 sectors.

      

    • Scaler rate ratios

      Comparison of the scaler rate ratios in the 12 sectors.

      

    • Scaler rate small spikes (above 300 kHz)

      Density of scaler spikes above 300 kHz in the 12 sectors.

      

    • Scaler rate large spikes (above 400 kHz)

      Density of scaler spikes above 400 kHz in the 12 sectors.

      

• Bi-Weekly Plots

  Bi-Weekly plots are updated daily after the end of the swing shift.

  Most of the plots have the same structure than the corresponding ones displayed in the daily section. They just cover two weeks instead of one day.

  • Scaler alarm counters

    These plots show the number of scaler rate yellow (top plot) and red (bottom plot) alarms per day. Scaler alarms are 'OR-ed' over sectors (2 or more scalers in alarm at the same time makes 1 single entry). Like for the corresponding daily plots, the y-axis on the right converts these number into day fractions given the OdcNtupleMaker sampling rate.

    

• Scaler accumulated charges

  • Daily and integrated accumulated charges

    For each sector, this table shows an estimate of the charge (per PMT) accumulated by the HV channel which is powering the scaler. These numbers are computed by integrating the excess current (measured current - nominal current @ V0), sampled every second. After the integration, all computed charges are divided by 16 (the number of PMTs per HV channel).

  • Corresponding plot for scaler in sector 3

    Because of the injection pattern, the scaler in sector 3 is recording the highest rate among all 12 scalers.

    

• Scaler rate and neutron counter parameterization check

  • Scaler rate parameterization check

    For each sector, this picture provides the profile plot 'scaler rate ratio vs. scaler rate'. It aims at showing how the 12 linear parameterizations of the scaler rates work on an extended range of scaler rates. If things would be perfect, the 12 plots should be flat. Deviations from that behavior means either that the model does not describe well enough the data or that the background components evolve with the scaler rates.
