The Drift Chamber simulation group implements and maintains the code needed to describe the detector in both detailed and fast simulation.
- The items covered in the detailed simulation are :
-
- Geometry definition (only one geometry);
- Tracking of the particle (dedicated algorithm) ;
- Estimation of the Hits;
- dE/dx;
-
-
- DchSimGeom is the package working in bbsim (Geant3 framework) where all the previous sections are implemented. A description of the package may be found in DchSimGeom guide
.
-
-
- Digitization.
-
- DchSim is the package where the hits produced in the detailed simulation are converted in digis introducing intrinsic resolution of the detector and electronics.
-
- The new fast approach is implemented using GEANT4 and making working modules in the reconstruction framework.
The geometry may be defined using multiple models that cover both full and fast simulation. The code is divided in two packages covering the following items:
- Geometry definition;
- Tracking of the particle;
- Estimation of the Hits;
-
- BgsDchSim is the package working in Bogus (Geant4 framework) where all the previous sections are implemented. A description of the package may be found in BgsDchSim guide
.
-
-
- dE/dx;
- Fast tracking.
-
- DchBgsModules is the package working in the reconstruction framework where the hits produced in BgsDchSim are fitted to make track reco like objects . [ Carlo Dallapiccola,
Maryland];
- The dE/dx simulation is implemented in both the detailed and the fast Monte Carlo using specific parameterizations obtained from experimental results and from studies of single cell through dedicated codes. [ Mario Posocco, Padova]
