Background information
Your first step should be to visit the Online
DataFlow page. There are many documents there which you will find
useful. As a starting point an introduction to DataFlow, you should read the
Programmer's
Guide.
Some of the aspects of DataFlow code which are relavent to other aspects
of the online world, are:
- Feature Extraction. This PostScript
document outlines the conversion of raw data from the front-end into
quantities suitable for use by reconstruction.
- Output tagged containers . These are
the objects which transport the feature-extracted data from the ROM to the
unix farm. As such, they are the starting point from which OEP and the L3
trigger will work.
- Detector addressing scheme. This defines
the channel addresses for storing and using calibration constants, and also
the information needed to extract wire/layer numbers in OEP and L3.
