DCH High Voltage System Documentation Page
The purpose of this page is to point to descriptions and documentation for the drift chamber high voltage system.
- The BaBar drift chamber is a 7104 cell, 80:20 Helium/Isobutane, 2000 Volt drift chamber. It currently it runs at 1930 Volts.
-
The high voltage supply system is based on a Caen SY 527 mainframe with associated high voltage modules.
-
The high voltage from the Caen Modules is filtered before reaching the drift chamber.
-
The high voltage is controlled and monitored via EPICS. There are alternative means through xyplex but these are left entirely to An Expert...... .
-
The high voltage (A833AP) system was modified at SLAC to provide an analog signal of the current supplied to the chamber.
-
The Analog Imon outputs of the Caen A833AP are summed in a purpose built chassis.
-
High Voltage Trip recovery information has been documented by Michael Kelsey.
-
Debugging hints are available when some things go wrong.
-
Some conditions must be met before the HV can actually be turned on.
