                                              BaBar Drift Chamber
                                              Environmental Sensors
                                             The different CPUs

                                                                      (updated May 3rd 1999)

The environmental sensors are read through CANbusses.
The CANbus software are running on the VME-CPU (VM177) Motorola CPU
called dch-mon.slac.stanford.edu  (134.79.158.39) located
in the IR2 Electronics House and the EPICS Monitoring software can be activated/displayed on the bbr-dev0x.slac.stanford.edu (x>= 2) or on bbr-con0x.slac.stanford.edu (x=1,7)
(SUN SPARC5 ULTRA machine). Passwords and logins for the Motorola machine and the SPRACs are respectively common to all users for the VME-CPU (see expert for the login name and password (Fuvio galeazzi or myself)) and is your SLAC Unix login/password  for the SUN SPARC5 machine (It may happen that you should have to make a klog on this machine to have write on your disk (because of SLAC-AFS ...)).

To log on the VME-CPU machine make a telnet connection to dch-mon.slac.stanford.edu from bbr terminal, to reboot the VME just do "CRTL x", or do it by hand directly on the VME-CPU crate.
To have a terminal for the CPU use the command : telnet bbr-tty1 3600
