status report at EMC software workshop, July 17 2000

Status of OPR

  • tests on OPR farm run successfully
  • multi node running (35 machines)
  • including spatial/temporal database usage
  • including writing constants to DB
  • also tested in release 9.2.0

Whats going on there ?

  • OEP will write out up to 30 Hz of (prescaled) Bhabhas to xtc
  • OPR reads them in
  • Bhabha calibration will be in an extra path, seeing all Bhabhas
  • matrix is accumulated and written to the spatial DB - one constants block for every node with begin and end time stamp
  • additionally number of selected clusters is counted and written to the spatial DB too
  • storeAccum
    • the spatial DB's from all nodes are merged, adding up the matrices and the overall number of selected clusters
    • one constants block of data is formed with begin and end time stamp and written to the temporal DB
  • finalize:
    • the constants blocks are read in backward in time, beginning with the current one
    • they are merged
    • if the number of selected clusters is larger than a cut the merging is stopped and the matrix inversion is performed
    • if the cut is not satisfied at all nothing is done
    • obtained constants are written to the conditions DB

How is the calibration currently done ?

  • cron job looks at every xtc and accumulates data
  • matrix and vector are written to ASCII file
  • perform calibration about every week
  • scan electronic logbook by hand to look for problematic runs (how can this be done later in full automatic mode ?)
  • put results and plots on web page
