Requirements for a background monitoring sensor

Available, Informative, stable, robust , fast, easy to simulate, reasonably integrated

Available : Its availabilty should not depend on BABAR to be taking data or be in some defined state.

Informative: good correlation with the key parameters of the subdetector, good background sensitivity

Stable: does not depend of the detailed setup of your detector. If so, correct for it. Should be the same reading viewed from MCC for BABAR-on and BABAR-off state. Example DCH current should be renormalized in EPICS to take into account DCH HV voltage.

Robust : should be meaningful and available in bad background conditions: good linearity, no trip, etc..

Fast : should be available in less than 10 seconds to allow fast correlations with the machine elements

Reasonably integrated: should not be subject to statistical fluctuations greater than

>5 % in stable conditions
