BABAR Aperture Scan Experiment - 05 March 2007

Sub-Detectors Analysis:

HER Single Beam X-angle Scan:

  • BaBar runs: 70883, 70884.
  • Bunch pattern: 0-3000. BPM measdef at bucket 200.
  • Y-angle = +1.1 mrad, adjusted manually at each X-angle step.
  • Beam current: 300 mA.
  • CRR plot file: PHYSICS5_DATA:[PEP2.CHAR.5MAR07]HERXPS_1_7MAR.DAT
  • HER X-Angle Scan .

HER Single Beam Y-angle Scan:

  • BaBar runs: 70884, 70885.
  • Bunch pattern: 0-3000. BPM measdef at bucket 200.
  • X-angle = -16.7 mrad.
  • Beam current: 300 mA.
  • CRR plot file: PHYSICS5_DATA:[PEP2.CHAR.5MAR07]HERYPS_1_7MAR.DAT
  • HER Y-Angle Scan .

HER Single Beam: High Current

  • BaBar run: 70886.
  • Bunch pattern: 0-3000. BPM measdef at bucket 200.
  • X-angle = -17.0 mrad (optimum from scan).
  • Y-angle = 1.1 mrad (optimum from scan).
  • CRR plot file: PHYSICS5_DATA:[PEP2.CHAR.5MAR07]HERIS_1_7MAR.DAT
  • High Current .

LER Single Beam X-angle Scan:

  • BaBar run: 70887
  • Initial Bunch pattern: 400-3400. BPM measdef at bucket 3200. But switched back to regular by-2 (See time history below)
  • X-angle init = 9.1 mrad.
  • Y-angle = -1.1 mrad, adjusted manually at each X-angle step.
  • Beam current: 300 mA.
  • CRR plot file: PHYSICS5_DATA:[PEP2.CHAR.5MAR07]LERXPS_1_7MAR.DAT
  • LER X-Angle Scan .

LER Single Beam Y-angle Scan:

  • BaBar runs: 70889.
  • Uli changed gain of LFB.
  • Initial Bunch pattern: 400-3400. BPM measdef at bucket 3200. But switched back to regular by-2 (See time history below)
  • X-angle optimum = 9.1 mrad.
  • Y-angle init = -1.1 mrad, No X-angle compensation.
  • Beam current: 360 mA.

LER Single Beam: High Current

  • BaBar run: 70890, 70891.
  • Bunch pattern: regular by-2. BPM measdef at bucket 3200.
  • X-angle = 9.1 mrad (optimum from scan).
  • Y-angle = -1.1 mrad (optimum from scan).

Collisions: Luminosity Scan

  • BaBar run: .
  • Bunch pattern: HER 0-3000, LER 400-3400.
  • HER angles: X-angle = -16.36 mrad, Y-angle = 1.06 mrad.
  • I_LER=375 mA, I_HER=325 mA.
  • CRR plot file: PHYSICS5_DATA:[PEP2.CHAR.5MAR07]LERLUMI_7MAR.DAT
  • CRR plot file: PHYSICS5_DATA:[PEP2.CHAR.5MAR07]HERLUMI_7MAR.DAT
  • Unfortunately, the MultiKnob feedback was not working: No Lumi scan.
