Introduction
- This WWW page is dedicated to the online system documentation and support for the BaBar detector collaboration for the SLAC B-Factory.
Online System Safety
- Before you do any work on Online system hardware in IR2 or one of the test
labs, you will need to print, read and sign the Online System Worker Routine
JHAM (Job Hazard Analysis and Mitigation) and have it
co-signed by the Dataflow Coordinator (Odf workers) or Online Coordinator (all others)

- The Building 280 Online and Dataflow Lab AHA (Area Hazard Analysis)
is available here (doc and
pdf).
- Software-only work in the office and in IR2 is covered by the BaBar Office Worker and BaBar Shift Taker JHAMs.

Online System
- The BABAR collaboration's online computing effort currently encompasses detector control and monitoring, the upper levels of the data path, and various kinds of run control and partitioning.

Presently online and offline code management are covered in the same forums, except for "official" online releases, which now have their own forum. Small-scale
"pseudo-releases" limited to DataFlow-related code are occasionally generated on an ad-hoc basis and announced in the DataFlow forum.
