OEP Status 28 January 1998
Current status of OEP software and development
- OEP Framework and tagged containers
-
- Most of the code for enhanced tagged container behavior has been checked in to the OdfPublic package.
-
- odfTypeId* - replaces existing odfTCObject and implements a type identification system for containers and their children
- odfTypeRep* - provides the basis of a type dictionary scheme for iterator lookups
- odfContigXTC* - a container class, generic iterator, type-safe iterator, and a builder for hierarchies of tagged containers
- various test programs
- replacements for odfTC, odfXTC, and odfTCIterator taking the new odfTypeId* technology into account
- Two more components, and documentation, are ready to go in:
-
- A manager for odfTransition objects, allowing users to build arena-managed TCs inside odfTransition objects (this is a temporary kludge until DataFlow's real buffer manager appears)
- A handle for TCs in AbsEvents
- An initial hierarchy browser will follow shortly.
- We will be having another TC workshop next week to review these changes and address some longer-term issues.
- I'm writing documentation, which will go into the DataFlow Auxiliary Reference Manual.
- Integration with DataFlow
-
- The main problem right now is getting the two makefile systems to cooperate. With a fix to this, data transport from DF to OEP should follow in a couple of days.
- Distributed histogramming and GUIs
-
- The CORBA version of Dhp works.
- Our student hire is working on converting the Java client to a JavaBean, and will then move it to CORBA as well.
- We are working on making IDL files and the rest of the build technology needed for CORBA work inside SRT.
- Databases
-
- Yury Kolomensky and George Zioulas will present the new configuration database interface in tomorrow's online meeting (hijacked from DataFlow).
