OEP meetings are now biweekly, in the phase of 2002.3.6.
"Online Event Processing" (OEP) is a subsystem of the BABAR online system. Its responsibilities begin with the reception of complete events delivered by the Event Builder component of the
DataFlow system, and encompass the operation of the Level 3 trigger algorithm, event data quality assurance, and other actions of the online system dealing with complete events, short
of their complete reconstruction.
The Level 3 trigger itself is being developed by a separate group within the Trigger organization.
Finally, the OEP subsystem must ensure that desired events are logged and passed on to the Prompt Reconstruction (PR) subsystem. It is this subsystem which will implement the BABAR requirement that complete reconstruction of all acquired events must be done in near-real time.
The OEP subsystem will also have the function of providing the framework for those online calibration activities which require the services of the IR-2 UNIX farm. These will include the final stages of data processing for subsystem electronics, pulser,
and source calibrations, as well as
applications
requiring
especially rapid response or data volumes exceeding the 100 Hz logging rate limit.
Additional information on these issues is available
through the Online Calibration home page.

OEP-focus online phone meetings are on a new schedule, beginning
2000.01.12: weekly at 16:00,
or immediately following the daily operations
meeting if it ends later than that, with the SLAC end
in the IR-2 Cornelius conference room.
Details are available on the online phone meetings Web page.
All OEP subsystem contacts should make every effort to attend each meeting.
