Alarm Handler
The ALH button on the odc_main panel launches the Alarm Handler.
The default (left mouse) selection will launch it in a mode which
depends on the node. On bbr-con01 or bbr-con02 it will launch in
global/active/beeping/logging/caputackt mode.
There should be only one copy like this. On all other platforms
it will launch in global/passive/silent/nonlogging. The right
mouse button offers a choice of other nonlogging modes.
The meaning of the modes
- Global/Local: In global mode the acknowledgement state is read from,
and written to the IOC. In local mode the acknowledgement state is
kept in the local instance of the Alarm Handler and is independent of
others.
- Active/Passive: In active mode, alarms may be ackowledged. In passive
mode, the Alarm handler is just an observor.
- Beeping/Silent: In beeping mode the silence forever state is suppressed;
in Silent mode it is always on.
- Logging/nonLogging: In logging mode all changes of alarm states are
written to ALH-default.alhAlarm and to CMLOG.
- caputackt: This option writes the alarm masks in the configuration
file to the IOCs at launch time.
