You can quit the application any time either by choosing Quit command in the File menu or clicking close button on the window title bar. If you have an update transaction open the application will show a dialog asking whether you want to commit transaction, abort it, or return to the appication. Aborting transaction will cancel any change made since last commit. If you have a read transaction open the application will commit it without confirmation.
The application may crash (like any other application:). If this happens due to the fatal message from error logger the the application will pop up the dialog showing that message and will kill itself when you press button on the dialog. In any case after a crash you have to examine the database locks the crash may leave. Type 'oolockmon' to see if there are any locks left and clean them with 'oocleanup -local'.
