Operations with alias tree

Below is the list of operations supported by the alias tree browser. The operations can be performed by selecting some item in the browser and choosing the corresponding action from the context menu (right-clicking mouse button), from the Actions menu, or from the browser tool bar. Every operation below lists where corresponding action can be found. Some operations can be performed only when transaction is in update mode, they are marked with [update].

Display (Ctrl+Y)

Pops up a window displaying the details for the object selected in the right pane. (Object selected in the right pane are actually links, this action displays details of objects pointed by the link.) Accessible from the context menu in the right pane. This is also a default action in the right pane when selected link points to the leaf alias.

Open (Ctrl+O)

Opens map selected in the right pane. This action is available for the maps only and is a default action for them. Also accessible from the context menu in the right pane.

Explore (Ctrl+E)

Opens new alias tree browser window. The map pointed by the link selected in the right pane will become a root object for the new browser. Accessible from the right context menu, tool bar, and Actions menu.

Expand all (Ctrl+X)

Expands the map selected in the left pane. Accessible from the context menu in the left pane.

Show History

Pops up a window displaying a history for an object selected in the left pane. Accessible from the right context menu, tool bar, and Actions menu.

New Run Type [update]

Adds new run type to the system selected in the left pane. Prompts for a new run type name and the top alias name in top database this run type will point to. Accessible from the right context menu, tool bar, and Actions menu.

Add System [update]

Adds new system to the top map selected in the left pane. Prompts for a system name and the system alias name. Accessible from the right context menu, tool bar, and Actions menu.

New Link [update]

Adds new link to the map selected in the left pane. Prompts for a container name, alias name, and new link name. Accessible from the right context menu, tool bar, and Actions menu.

Change Key [update]

Changes the key for the leaf alias pointed by the link selected in the right pane. Prompts for a new numeric key. Accessible from the right context menu, tool bar, and Actions menu.

Delete Link [update]

Deletes the link selected in the right pane. Asks for confirmation. Accessible from the right context menu, tool bar, and Actions menu.
