PEP Subsystem Simulation Web Page
The Bogus simulation of the PEP beam pipe is highly detailed. It includes
the beryllium beam pipe with its internal water cooling channels, gold and
nickel and paint coatings, aluminum and stainless steel flanges, and tantalum
synchrotron radiation shields. The PEP magnets B1 and Q1 are also included
along with the ion pump between them.
In the detector model (used in reconstruction) the beam pipe is much
simpler, consisting of a simple tube with the correct mean material density.
There are currently no detector elements in PEP used in simulation, hence
no sensitive detector code is required.
The following packages are required for the detailed simulation using Bogus:
- BgsPepSim - builds the PEP geometry
- PepSimGeom - defines the primitive geometry objects used to build
PEP
- PepSimGeomP - sets up the persistent containers, proxies and
loaders needed to store and retrieve geometry parameters from the database
