  • regression tests of 15.3.0, 15.4.0, 15.5.0 -- Dennis Wright see if io steream has effect on bogus, no diffi in qasim hists. 15.3 and 15.4 small diffs, source not identifed, all bgs packages identical so not them. evt gen not the source. 1-2 counts on histo entries, nothing significant
  • neutrons for background studies installed and tested last week. sm2co17 neutron model requires data, not avaliable for Sm. Workaround chnaged Sm to Co. "stacked track"; tracks deferred for later tracking profile builds of bgs code; why running in ext model so slow. compare with normal model (polycone alg ~15%), ext model g4fplaneintersect (used in brep volume) breps has lots of little planes. G4lineintersect2d (7%), mag field routines ~few percent. BRep Mario will take a look at profile build log file. Not obvious what solution is ~8.7 times slower (running at 1 degree, w/ moose ) than regular model. most likely called at every point, hence time scales inversely with step size. SR: how important is it to reduce time? kaon extenstion to bertini working. should have spectrumm in near future. even quasi elastic kaon scattering

    • BBBREM in framework, beampipe geometry and running extended full model with Moose -- Bill Lockman and Mario Bondioli giovanni produced new file to corrrect moose crash. now crashes later. overlap problem or related to code? Need to find particle that causes problem giovanni has reasoable descrip of q1 - q4 . working on Q5. Q: BFMgeomtest work with breps? DW: yes. can even use G4geomtest. mario debugging timescale? sounds like a problem with description of synchrotron masks in q1. more crutial than q5. Who will do this??? Probably imppoartant for beam gas (incoming), can most likely modify existing SR mask descrip. SolidEdge files? How are these described in turtle? Bill will talk with mike S.   • Progress on generators updating -- Abi Soffer. sent emails out today. want imput by after collab meeting Brian will make changes to jetset: allow fragmentation to be flavour dependent. in priciple can be different, but in pratice parameters are set the same. will make babar specific jetset package DW: diff between 15.3 and 15.4 qasimhists are slightly different? Any generator packages that have changed? Abi: seen similar behaviour in past, but not sure why.
