Subject: IFR software meeting

  I would like to have a meeting devoted to the organization of the IFR
software in the near future. Due to the wide spread of the IFR group across the
continents with limited travel budgets and my wish that the largest number of
people can contribute to  discussions (...and work) on IFR software, I think
that practically it's necessary to have two meetings - one in the US and one in
Italy - at a short distance, with some overlap of people attending both. I'll
do my best to guarantee that the opinions of people and the results of the
discussions are exchanged over the two meetings.

  I'll be at SLAC for a couple of weeks next month (Dec 5-20) and a few other
Italian collaborators will be there for the software workshop and the IFR
review in that period as well, so I suggest the first meeting to take place at
SLAC during my stay there; the second one can be held in Italy in January
before the Paris collaboration meeting and software workshop.

  I suggest the following dates and locations:

Monday 11 December at SLAC
Monday 8 January at Napoli

with the following programme for both:

- status of IFR simulation and reconstruction
- plans of IFR software developments 
- distribution of tasks
- strategies to improve communication

I stress the fact that now, after a series of software workshops and having
received such a great help from Bob and Torre to get started, it's time to
start doing some serious work, so I expect that in these meetings people are 
ready to take commitments to do the work.

  The participation of Bob and Torre is welcome.

  Please let me know if the proposed dates are fine for you or suggest an
alternative one.
