Warning
RooFitDalitz development was discontinued in 2003. This is an orphaned project and there is no support for it
whatsoever. RooFitDalitz has obvious design flaws and is not very easy to use.
Consider using a different package for your Dalitz plot analysis.
RooFitDalitz (RFD) is an extension package for doing Dalitz plot fits with the
RooFit toolkit. RooFit is based on
the ROOT analysis framework.
RFD also requires the EvtGen
generator package for describing Dalitz plot amplitudes.
RooFitDalitz is best viewed as a library of extension classes to RooFit that allows one to
specify a PDF that is obtained by squaring a sum of complex amplitudes. For most other functionality
such as efficiencies, time-dependents fits, etc. you will need to use RooFit and familiarity
with the package is essential. If you are considering using RooFit for your
Dalitz plot analysis, you should consider RooFitDalitz. Also, be aware of other tools that
are out there such as LAURA++.
The most you would be able to do without looking under the hood is quick generator level toy MC
studies.
Documentation
A casual user should look at the example macros and tweak them. If you would like to do more,
you will have to look at the source code to make sense of the package. Familiarity with RooFit is
required. Please read the notes onRooFitDalitz design it may be helpful.
