Introduction

The Objectivity Database Management System is now available at SLAC and LBL. This document briefly describes how to access, copy, move, and install, Objectivity databases in the AFS environment at SLAC. Some examples are given to illustrate these manipulations. More detailed information can be found in the Objectivity/DB Administration[1] handbook.

The procedures described here also apply to an NFS environment. In this case the Objectivity Advanced Multithreaded Server (described below) is optional, however, it is necessary to have the mountd daemon running with the -n option[2].
