FAQ Answerpage

QUESTION:
For package coordinators: email organization tip.

ANSWER:
It's true, as a package coordinator, you'll get a lot of email; you'll receive email from your subscriptions to Hyper News Groups, and all the postings regarding production and nightly builds. One recommendation is to implement procmail (or some other email filter) to help you organize your email. It is not advisable to use procmail to simply throw your email in the trash. For example, use procmail to place email received into folders as a way to chunk the bundles of email into smaller, more digestable bites. As a standard of measurement, the Release Coordinator gets well over 300 mail messages/day and it's likely that Bob gets at least 2 or 3 times that.
