QUESTION:
What is the "nightly build"? When is it run? Can the deadline be extended?
ANSWER:
The nightly build is exactly that - a type of production build that is run every night except when a production build is running. The main difference between a production build and the nightly build is that a nightly build is a compilation-only build;
there are no binaries linked. At 5:00 PM PST/PDT, the nightly build performs a compilation-only build on everything that has been Checklist'd since the last production build. This includes any new packages.
Can the deadline be extended?
No. The nightly build is a completely automated system, run by a series of cron jobs. Therefore it makes no sense to extend or change the deadline. Simply wait for the next day and your new package/version will be in the next nightly build.
