This list identifies the vendors for commercial software that either is already incorporated into, or is expected to be incorporated into BABAR software. In order to develop
BABAR software, a developers license for these products will be generally be necessary. In order to execute BABAR applications, a run-time license (if

A run-time license is not necessary. This is purely a software development tool.

No Run-time license is necessary. A development license is necessary in order to compile and link code using this software. SLAC has recently negotiated a limited project-wide license for this software. This includes support for about 30 simultaneous
developers at SLAC and a limited number of licenses have been "seeded" to selected developers as an incentive. Additional licenses under this umbrella agreement can be purchased from SLAC. We're still trying to understand whether this entails the SLAC
overhead however. A worst-case scenario is $685 for both products and 12 months support.
