Did you forget your password???

10 Jan 2006

Security

If you are a BABAR Collaborator and have forgotten your password, there are only a couple of ways to get a new one owing to the security consciousness at SLAC.

  • Appear in person (with Photo Identification) at the SLAC Computing Services Help Desk, Bldg 50
  • Contact the SCS Help Desk (1-650-926-4357), identify yourself as a BABAR collaborator and make your request.
  • If none of the above options work for you, then email or telephone in the request. The minimum information needed to reset passwords is: Your Name; and Your Existing Unix Account Name. If you are not fully-registered in the BABAR Personnel Database, your request will likely be ignored. If the information in the database is wrong, it should be fixed --- you can do this yourself via the Babar personnel web page.
  • If all else fails, contact Kathy Webb.

  • BABAR Hypernews passwords

You may reset (i.e. change) your BABAR Hypernews password simply by using ssh to log onto the following machine: babar-hn.slac.stanford.edu. NOTE that you must be logged into a SLAC machine using your SLAC Unix account for this to work!

    Oracle passwords

You may request a change by sending email to db-admin@slac.stanford.edu
