BaBar Computing Policy Access to CVS code repository February 9, 1996 The BaBar computing system code is maintained as a set of packages using the CVS code management system. To promote efficient collaborative code development efforts, it is the policy of the BaBar computing system to permit collaborators write access to this code repository (although there may be a few packages for which very limited write access is deemed appropriate). It is the responsibility of each collaborator not to abuse this access. If there is any question about desired changes, the appropriate package coordinator should be consulted prior to making changes. Collaborators are expected to cooperate with the package coordinators. In the event that a package coordinator finds an individual unresponsive to requests for coordination and cooperation, the package coordinator may disable write access to the package repository for the individual. The package coordinator will inform the computing system managers (Neil Geddes and Frank Porter) of the difficulty, providing relevant documentation, for example, emails. The system managers may (will, if anyone so requests) review the situation and arbitrate a final resolution.
