Import of Collections to SLAC

[ DataDist ]

This page describes the flow of importing collections to SLAC and put them into HPSS and xrootd. There are four independent steps

  1. Transfer: User transfers a collection (using KanCollTransfer.pl) to the bbr-xfer cluster at SLAC. The files of the collection are put into a temporary directory.
  2. Import: An import cron job handles the collections.
    1. The files are moved from the temporary space into the migratable space, using the proper collection/file name.
    2. The files are transfered to the xrootd kan-cluster (no nessacary).
