Available Skimmed Data

There are 111 skims for Run 1, Run 2 and Run 3 on-peak and Run 1 and Run 2 off-peak data available currently, these are not complete yet, see the full list of skims for how much data is in each skim.

The format for the dataset names are of the form Tau1N-Run2-OnPeak-R14

  • Replace Tau1N with your skim name
  • Run2 with the run cycle you want
  • OnPeak or OffPeak for the on and off resonance data
  • R14 all data in the bookkeeping is currently release 14 (refers to the conversion release number for Runs 1-3)

There is a special AllEvents skim, this should be used it you need to run over every event:

Dataset Number of
collections
Total number
of runs
L3 Lumi
(fb^-1)
AllEventsSkim-Run1-OffPeak-R143265 2.31
AllEventsSkim-Run1-OnPeak-R14193222 19.39
AllEventsSkim-Run2-OffPeak-R147598 7.05
AllEventsSkim-Run2-OnPeak-R14475156 60.91
AllEventsSkim-Run3-OffPeak-R143250 2.44
AllEventsSkim-Run3-OnPeak-R14273447 31.36
AllEventsSkim-Run4-OffPeak-R1410625 9.92
AllEventsSkim-Run4-OnPeak-R14806573 99.24
NOTE: The AllEvent-Run4- collections do contain only DQG GOOD runs
but have not been skimmed and have not tag bits set.
AllEvents-Run4-OffPeak-R14626626 9.94
AllEvents-Run4-OnPeak-R1465846584 99.44
NOTE: there are also AllEvent-Run1-OnPeak-R12 datasets, these should not be used.
As they have only the converted tag bits set and
are based on the direct conversion of the R12 release.
AllEvents-Run1-OffPeak-R12265265 2.31
AllEvents-Run1-OnPeak-R1232223222 19.39
AllEvents-Run2-OffPeak-R12598598 7.05
AllEvents-Run2-OnPeak-R1251565156 60.91
AllEvents-Run3-OffPeak-R12250250 2.44
AllEvents-Run3-OnPeak-R1234483448 31.38

Problems with the current skims

Data skimmed with 14.2.x
Approx 50% of the skims are with this release
2573 of 3488 runs in Run1, 3789 of 5760 runs in Run2,
0 of 3689 runs in Run3 (runs skimmed at SLAC only!)
Look here for a detailed list of all affected collections (Run1-Run3).

Emc cluster/bump/cand hookup problem

This problem occurs in ~1/200 events. Also is a change in cluster position algorithm.

Fixed in 14.3.1a (and Emc cluster position algorithm was backed out). There is also a fix-on-read, but skims are done without that (therefore you may loose events in your skim).

IHBD D*rho skim incorrectly selects events

A bug in Beta that has been fixed in 14.3.1a. However, the fix uncovered a problem in this skim (which was there before).

Fixed in 14.3.1b.

BtoDlnu and BchToD0KAll thought they had UsrData

On looking at the output from a merge of the skim discovered they had not activated their UsrData.

Fixed in 14.3.1c.

All data skims

Some tag quantities are missing in output

The number of tag bits in the skim executable varies from event-to-event. This was not expected and has resulted in some tag bits not being written. As we have all the skims (they are defined correctly) the impact of this isn't as bad as it could have been. Need to understand this in more detail though. Some ones that are missing that are the most worrying are the mumu and B counting tag bits (may be possible to reconstruct some of these on read). The complete list (from scanning 10fb^-1) is here.

This should be fixed in 14.3.2e.
