The result of a study based on Monte Carlo simulation of the vertex resolution in the plane perpendicular to the beam is reported, for the channel B^0 D^+D^-, followed by K(2pie). Using a "corrected" distance of closest approach to the z axis of the
lepton tag, and association of the tracks to the two decay vertices is attempted. The D meson is inferred by exploiting the thrust in the x-y plane.
- AN UNBINED MAXIMUM LIKELIHOOD ANAYLSIS OF CP VIOLATION

In order to determine the precision with which CP measurements can be made in the BaBar detector, the vertex resolution of flavor-tagged B^0 and B^0 decays has been studied with the aid of the ASLUND Monte Carlo simulation. The precision with which the
distance between a tagged B^0 (B^0) decay vertex and the CP final state B^0 decay vertex can be measured directly related to how precisely the CP asymmetry can be measured. This note describes the procedure and results of estimating the vertex resolution
of the B flavor tag modes.

The tagging B vertex measurement dominates the uncertainly on time difference between the two B decays considered when measuring the CP asymmetry. Different reconstruction methods have been tried on events tagged by a fast lepton. The resolution on the
longitudinal position of the vertex depends critically on the polar angle of the lepton. A possible useful parametrization of this dependance is here proposed.

This note presents the results of the study of B^o-->D^+ D^- and D^*+ D^*- in the BaBar detector as modes for measuring sin2beta. The detector simulation package ASLUND together with an event fitting package FITVER is used to measure vertex and mass
resolutions, reconstruction efficiencies and backgrounds for a number of D^+/- and D^o decay modes. Results are extrapolated to the decay B^o-->D^+ D^-.

Using the formalism of discriminating variables for an optimal tagging using leptons, kaons, V^o's, the topology and the charge of the B decay, an overall quality factor of 33.2% is reached.
