BABAR Software Week, Annecy 2-5 June 1998

June Software Week (last update: 06/18/1998)

The June Software Week is to happen in Annecy, June 2nd to 5th: the L.A.P.P., one of the IN2P3 laboratories collaborating to BaBar, will be kindly hosting us, and blocks of rooms have been prebooked downtown.

This Software Week will be held in the form of a Workshop, where discussions will be preferred to slide shows, taking place in 4 packed full days.
There will be Object Class Teaching Sessions and Tutorials on every evening.
The targeted audience is expected to be mostly offline developers, ranging from expert to user levels.
There will also be several Physics Sessions on Thursday and Friday morning.

The Fees

They will cover buffet lunch at noon, coffees, etc.
If you register before May 15th, the fees will be of 600FF.
If you register later, they will amount to 700 FF.
You will be invited to pay them with cash in French Francs, together with the dinner, on Thursday morning.
You will be delivered a receipt, for being reimbursed by your institute.
Monday 1st of June is a day off in France. No bank will be opened this day, but you will be able to use cash dispensers.

Social Event

A Workshop Dinner will be organised on Wednesday evening (June 3rd).
It will be held on board of the Restaurant "La Libellule", a boat cruising on the Annecy Lake, and will begin a 8:00 PM.
The price is 240FF, and you are invited to indicate now by e-mail if you want to attend this dinner, and how much people from your party will come.

Transportation to the LAPP

From the Annecy Railway Station (GARE SNCF), you can get a lift by public bus (Line #4) up to the "IUT", which is 5 min far from the LAPP by foot.
A good map about this is available (courtesy LAPP) in GIF or PS formats. The 2 locations mentioned above are displayed there.

You have to book yourself very soon your room, since this is the convention season in Annecy.
